Fire Resistant Glazing

In a fire protection scenario, the stability of glass under fire conditions is dependent on the capability of the glazing system to resist internal tensions created by the temperature differential across the thickness of the material. Standard glass cracks and shatters when the temperature differential exceeds 40°C. Promat SYSTEMGLAS® and PROMAGLAS®, however, resist temperature differentials up to 1000°C.

The design of the complete glazing system is just as important as the qualities of the glass itself. Promat has developed various high performance systems which not only perform well in fire but also resists smoke, impact, crowd pressure, wind loads, sound transmission and the adverse effects of ultraviolet light.
