A+B is a well-established producer of quality paints and sprays for passive fire protection. The consolidated 2012 sales of the A+B Group amounted to more than €10 million. The highly automated company employs a workforce of 120 people.

Their business covers the territory of Poland and entire Russia, as well as many other former Soviet countries. A+B has production facilities near Moscow and in Kaliningrad. It relies on an extended network of distributors in Russia and beyond to move its products into its various markets.

The paints and sprays for passive fire protection represent an excellent business fit with the strategic ambitions of Promat International. A+B has developed a well-known brand based on quality products, some of which hold European certification. The potential for mutually rewarding synergy makes an attractive proposition for both companies.

The acquisition is also likely to expand prospects within the Russian oil and gas industry, particularly for much needed Promat fire protection solutions.

Alexander Usterkhov, a former A+B shareholder, has accepted the position of General Manager in the new business unit. Lutz-Günther Appel, previously the manager of Promat Russia will sustain a commercial responsibility in the new structure.

It is the company’s intention to swiftly merge the A+B business and structures with Promat OOO, a long standing Russian entity. An integration team has been established to expedite matters.
